Selecting the perfect stroller can be an overwhelming experience. Strollers come in full size, lightweight, and jogger styles, not to mention double and triple strollers for multiple riders. Keep the following questions in mind when shopping for a stroller:
- Ease of Use: Can it be folded and opened quickly and with one hand? Does it turn easily? Does it include a storage basket, cup holders, or parent tray?
- Size: Do you need something lightweight and portable for carrying upstairs? Compact for storing in a trunk or closet? Will you be using the stroller outdoors for walking or jogging? If so, consider purchasing a jogging stroller, which has larger wheels for rugged terrain.
- Comfort: Does the seat recline? Is the canopy adjustable? What is the weight limit? Is the stroller appropriate for newborns? If not, check to make sure that it will accommodate a car seat or bassinet.
**Graco and Maclaren have recently issued safety recalls on some of their baby strollers due to the risk of amputation.
